Ella is a small village in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka governed by an Urban Council. It is approximately 200 kilometres east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna which is filled with tea estates, mountains, waterfalls and of course with some good air to breath..

So many people make Ella as one of their must visit destination because to feel the amazing views it created. It is a dream place for many trekkers with some of the best hikes the Island provides. This hidden village got vastly popular among the tourists lately.

Views of mist and clouds covering the summits of the mountain range and the morning sun rise in Ella are spectacular scenes to captured. Ella rock & Little Adam's peak are very famous among the hikers for catch the Sun rise.

Most Famous Places in Ella;
 1. Nine Arche Bridge -

          One of the highlights in the mountain village Ella is the 30-meter high Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. With a small 30-minute walk through the jungle, you will reach a piece of beautiful architecture that is hidden between lush green tea fields. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder, P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers. It is allowed to walk on the bridge and it’s one of the things you must do in Sri Lanka.

2.  Little Adam's Peak - 

                Ella is a hiking hotspot in the mountain country of Sri Lanka. Some of the views from hikes in Ella are phenomenal with the region well known for its tea plantations and spectacular mountain ranges. If you want to enjoy some of the best views without needing to hike for hours, Little Adam’s Peak is the perfect trek, especially for an unforgettable sun rise.

3. Ravana Ella falls -

4. Dowa Rock Temple -

              The temple has gain popularity mainly due to its massive 38 feet Buddha Statue carved in the granite rock. But this temple also hides some secrets that time has forgotten. The uncompleted image of the Buddha is carved out of a granite boulder which is well hidden form the main road. No much of attention has been given to this statue and it seems to be slowly breaking up. At the top pf the boulder is a small stupa. This stupa is the on the same level as the road and it is the only indication of a temple to a traveler on the road.
