 It’s known for Galle Fort

Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It is known as the Fort of Galle (Galle Fort), a fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. The stone walls of the sea, widened by the Dutch, The fort is surrounded by architectural car less streets that reflect the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Famous buildings include an 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the southeastern tip of the fort.
