THE ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a reserve home for elephants, is a popular destination for tourists visiting Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. The purpose of establishing this orphanage was to ensure the safety of the missed elephants from the flock and to provide treatment and protection to the elephants.
